Named stations appear on the clock as they come up. Leave it as it is to run one unnamed block.

The clock runs fullscreen and keeps the screen awake. It needs JavaScript, so with scripting off the plan below is the whole session written out.

How it works

Twelve minutes is the crossover point. At ten, an aggressive start survives to the end. At twelve, it usually does not, and the last three minutes turn into standing around between short sets.

That makes it a good teaching length. Run it once too fast and the drop-off is obvious. Run it again two minutes slower per round and the total is usually higher, which is the lesson every longer AMRAP depends on.

A round of ninety seconds fresh gives about eight rounds. If your eighth round takes twice as long as your second, you did not pace it, and the score would have been better at a slower start.

Repeat the same round and cap a few weeks apart. The comparison is the only reason the format produces a score at all.

Questions

Why twelve rather than ten?
The extra two minutes is where a fast start starts to cost you. Twelve is the shortest cap that teaches pacing rather than rewarding aggression.
Should I still go out hard?
Slightly less hard. Aim for a pace you could hold for fifteen minutes and you will finish twelve strongly.
How many rounds is good?
Depends entirely on the round. The number only means something against your own previous attempt at the same round.
