AMRAP
As many rounds as possible in a fixed time. One clock, a short list of exercises, and a simple, repeatable score.
AMRAP stands for “as many rounds as possible”. You set a clock, usually somewhere between ten and twenty-five minutes, and a short list of exercises with a fixed number of reps each. When the clock starts you work through the list, then start it again, and keep going until time runs out. Your score is the number of complete rounds you finished, plus any leftover reps.
The clock never stops, so the mistake almost everyone makes is starting too fast. The first two rounds feel easy and you bank a lead, then your pace collapses and the last ten minutes are a grind of long rests and broken sets. Pick rep counts you can finish unbroken when fresh, then settle into a pace you could hold for the whole cap. Rest is allowed, but every second spent resting is a second not scoring, so the aim is to keep moving at a speed that never forces a long stop.
Because the session is identical every time you run it, an AMRAP is a clean test of conditioning. Repeat the same one a month later and the round count tells you plainly whether you have improved, with none of the guesswork of a workout you change every session. It also asks for very little equipment and no rest timer, which makes it a practical way to train hard inside a known block of time.
Choose simple, repeatable movements you can still perform well while tired. Setkit alternates the exercises across the body so one area recovers while another works, and sets rep counts you can sustain for the whole cap rather than only the opening round.
